Bes was a Dwarf god that looked half lion and half human. Bes looked after pregnant women, newborn babies and their family. The ancient Egyptians believed that Bes protected people from deadly snake and scorpion bites. Bes represented art, music and child birth.
Bes always wore lion skin. Bes had a large head, thick arms and legs.
Bes also was a god of war that strangled different types of animals including lions and snakes.
Bes wore a head rest to protect people from evil spirits.
